Christmas Ornament

This ornament die is just stunning! I love how easy it cuts and the intricate design is just beautiful. I decided to go with colors that were a little more elegant than the traditional red and green! The ornament was cut using red cardstock. I chose a matt finish metallic paper behind it to show off the detail.

Taking the same red paper I embossed a strip using the harlequin design to repeat the diamond pattern in the paper. A few touches of pearls, a bow and voila...you have a very easy Christmas card!

I heat embossed the sentiment with detail white.
This card is tent style and finished size is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4
Thanks so much for looking!

Haunted House!

Today has been all dies and no coloring! This haunted house was so fun to work on. I got a little carried away and had to stop on the embellishing! Spiderwebs look great in black but I wanted to try white since they really are kinda transparent!

In the window vellum was used at the bottom and acetate over the transom. I rubbed the window frame with white chalk to give it a haunted feel.

Using a ball stylus I rounded the body and legs of the spider. He was then dangled from white twine onto an orange button. Black Soot Distress Ink was used along the edges of the die cuts.  Ribbon and an embossed strip were run across the back. All the layers are popped up with foam tape giving a more dimensional look. I love using jewels to dress things up, and of course a bow!

The inside was done using the Bare Branch die set and the Spider Web die. The card is tent style and finished size is A2

The Birch Quote Stamp was used for my watercolor design. The leaf was stamped three more times onto watercolor paper and painted with watercolor pencils.

The leaves were fussy cut then curved with a ball stylus. To keep their shape I dabbed Collall onto the back. I used a wet brush with opaque watercolor paints and splattered spots on the leaves and sentiment. I wanted the leaves to have an autumn morning feel to them so I lightly added Crackle accents to give that dewy look! This stamp also comes in the Birch leaves Cling Set that is just gorgeous!

For the inside I stamped two more leaves, painting one and leaving the other natural. I thought the Autumn and Leaves stamps were just the perfect touch inside.

Finished card is A2 size

Kitty and Pumpkin!

This Serendipity Stamp " Kitty & Pumpkin" is just too cute!
I colored the image with Copics and used the Circle Shaker Frame to complement the circle die. A CuttleBug embossing folder was used on the orange cardstock. For details on the card I used Glossy Accents, a black Pearl Pen, and I cut a few bristles from a hair brush for the cats whiskers! I lined the inside of the frame with twine, added some pearls and finished it with a bow!

A Touch of Fall!

This morning was glorious! Cooler and crisp, love it! Took advantage of the fall feeling and made a super easy card with all dies!

I used the Serendipity Pear Die with a gold and bronze metallic paper. This die is gorgeous and cuts beautifully. I wanted to keep my card CAS! The pear was popped up with foam tape and the oval die was lined with bronze pearls. Embellishing with a touch of ribbon and then added a bow.

The sentiment inside the card is from the Serendipity Pear Stamp and Die Set.

"Dance Is The Hidden Language Of The Soul" Martha Graham
This beautiful Ballerina Stamp was the inspiration for my card. The dancer and the ballerina shoes were colored with Copics and then fussy cut.  I used the brown oval die cuts on the sentiment, shoes, and ballerina to tie it all together. I added the finishing touches to the card by embellishing it with ribbons and pearls!

Air Hag!

This lovely lady was created for the "Parade of People" going on over at the Art Impression Challenge. Isn't she is a hoot! After coloring with my Copics I started out by fussy cutting her and her flying friends. Taking a ball stylus I rounded the body of the bats and their wings. To make sure they stayed curved I added some Collall to the back of them. Next I embossed the square shaker die for her frame and popped it with foam tape. I added just a little distress ink on the moons, placed her on an Action Wobble, embellished with ribbons , twine, eyeballs... and Voila!

  • Stamps: Ai -Air Hag
  • Ink: Memento Onyx Black

Fall Zinnias!

Fall is in the air, at least in my craft room! This Serendipity Stamp of Zinnias is so beautiful and their color combinations are endless. I stamped the image and then used an oval die to highlight the part of the stamp that I wanted to cut. I then used the Out of Box technique to showcase the butterfly.

  • Stamps: Serendipity Stamps: Zinnia 548L
  • Ink: Memento Espresso Truffle
  • Paper: Neenah Ivory, Authentique Thankful, cardstock
  • Dies: Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Eight, Ovals

Double Stamping!

This stamp of Anemones is one of the many beautiful florals from Flourishes . The card was inspired by a stamping technique I saw on Miriam's Blog  for Triple Stamping.  My first attempt was to try Double Stamping! I decided to color only the inside rectangle with Copics. I used a black Pearl Pen to dot the centers of the anemones.  Each layer is popped up with foam tape except the center rectangle. Finishing it off I added a gingham bow!

  • Ink: Memento Onyx Black
  • Paper: Neenah Solar White, black linen, American Crafts- Color Crush
  • Dies: Spellbinders Rectangles
  • Other: Copics, Perfect Layers Ruler, Bow Easy, Viva Pearl Pen- Black, foam tape, gingham ribbon
