Take a look at all the fabulous "chalky" designs!

Karen Amidon...here!

I have chosen a chalkboard technique. The fun Butterfly Garden image was stamped with VersaMagic- Cloud White, and embossed with detailed white.
The image was colored with chalk pencils.
When the card is closed, the left corner of the framed image is tucked under an embellished die cut with a bow.

When you open the chalkboard flap it reveals the
"Happy Birthday" stamped message.

Unfold the bottom flap and there is room for a hand written personal note!

The holidays are here and I love making Christmas cards! Don't you love this image of the Bayleaf Wreath from Serendipity Stamps?

The center of the wreath has been fussy cut. The beautiful "Let Heaven and Nature Sing" Serendipity stamp was used on the oval die cut. I inked up a small part of the wreath again and cut a portion of the leaves out. The cut leaves were put on top of the original stamped image giving the appearance of the oval being tucked into the wreath. The leaves were lifted and held in place with Collall dimensional glue. Each of the layers have been popped up with foam tape.

Using Eclipse tape, I covered part of the "Peace on Earth" stamp leaving only the word "Peace"!
I took a small cutting of the bay leaves again and embellished them with a bow.

One More Shaped Card!

I've used the Bird Die from Serendipity on my second card. This bird is so graceful and cuts beautifully.

Cryogen paper was used for this card. It has a slight shimmer to it. All the color has come from sponging with Distress Ink. I made three die cuts of the bird and left the wings partially open.
I thought the elegant Peace Stamp paired nicely with the bird. A simple ribbon, some pearls and bow finishes it.

Inside, I've embossed the same beautiful script of "Let Heaven and Nature Sing".

Looking forward to seeing your shapes!

REINDEER GAMES!

She wiggles, she wobbles and she wants to play some games! Who could turn HER down!
Another fabulous holiday stamp from Ai to enter in their "Gobble 'til you Wobble" Challenge 123!
 Cards with movement... FUN, right?!!

I've used the new Reindeer Games Set for my card. Fussy cut, colored with Copics and she is on a wobbler shaking it!
Her glasses shine with a touch of Glossy Accents. Her jingle bells shimmer with the sprinkle of a glitter pen. Lips of ruby red and hands on the hips! Lots of layers and fun pattern paper. Add a bow, and she's ready to play!

Inside, my go to favorite sentiment for Ai holiday cards...

Thanks for looking

The Matchbook Candy Holder makes a wonderful little gift or stocking stuffer!
The sweet Candy Canes with Holly stamp was the perfect size and match to use with this technique.
The image was colored with Copics. Glossy Accents glaze the red stripes on the candy canes! A small red and white gingham bow was placed over the original stamped bow.

The inside holds a small bag of peppermints!
To make the Matchbook Candy Holder, you can find the tutorial here on Splitcoast Stampers.

Isn't this Gingerbread Boy and Girl just the cutest? They were stamped with Rich Cocoa ink, fussy cut, and colored with Copics. I added Glossy Accents to their icing to give a little shine. The "To:" and "From:" stamps are a must to have on hand for your cards and tags! What little boy or girl wouldn't love this on their package?!

I love the whimsy feel of the four images in the Christmas Set. Each design was fun to color, fussy cut, and embellish. The images would also be great for stamping the outside of your holiday envelopes!

Here's the links to see how the DT used their scraps!

Karen Amidon...that's me!

Everyone has leftovers! This is such a great way to use up those scraps!  The sweet Snowman with Birds stamp was colored with Copics. A little dusting of iridescent glitter was added to his body. The scarf is adorned with tassels made from embroidery thread.

The "Joy is Everywhere" sentiment has such a beautiful script. It also would be fabulous to use on the front of a card.
Finished size is A-2

Basket Weaving with Scraps!

On my second card the technique I used with my scraps was basket weaving. Basically each strip is woven over and under...just like making those pot holders!

Foam tape was used on all the strips that ran horizontally (weft) to give it a nice contour. The Wheat Sheaf image was stamped with Rich Cocoa and left natural.

Inside the "November" month stamp was used from the beautiful Illustrated Months Cling Set. The individual months can also be purchased separately.
The bottom woven edge was a left over cut from the front!
Finished size is 5 1/4 x 5

Looking forward to seeing your designs with paper scraps!
Thanks and love to hear your comments

TANGLED BOB!

Poor Bob, he's all tangled up in a mess! This stamp is too funny! I thought he would be great to enter in the Ai Challenge 122- "Holly Jolly Christmas"! Bob is one of Ai's HILARIOUS Christmas stamps.

I had this lightbulb paper from Bo Bunny that paired up with him perfectly. The black twine was crisscrossed to repeat the strands of lights in the paper. Bob was colored with Copics. On his pants, I used a swatch of denim and colorless blender to give the "jeans" a textured look. Glossy Accents was added to the bulbs for shine.  The "catchy" sentiment is from Ai.
All layers are popped up with foam tape.

I found this cute lightbulb boarder and sentiment in my stash. I'm not sure which company it's from :(
If anyone knows I'll add it to the credits!

Flourishes- Mad for Plaid

This beautiful stamp is from the Autumn Blessings Set from Flourishes.
The FTTC this week is "Mad for Plaid"!
I love all the fall colors in this paper. The plaid is paired with a sweet little acorn print.

Copics were used to color the image. I used a few fun dies and kept the card CAS, with a BIG bow!

The inside sentiment is from the same collection.
Finished size is 5 1/2 x 4 1/2
