                                            Pauline Pollington
                                            Vickie Zimmer

The resist technique I chose is called "Ghosting". For this you will need:
Glossy White Paper, VersaMark Ink, Distress Inks (or any water based ink), blending tool, stamp, die (optional), and a rag.
A Tutorial by Beate Johns can be found here on Splitcoast Stampers

Using a die will leave a white border if left in placed.
The die was run through the cutter first. Next, leaving the die in place, stamp your image with your VersaMark. For this I have chosen the leaf from the Flower Pops Set. You want this to dry. I speeded up the process by using a heat gun!

Sponging color over the entire area, I've used Memento- Bamboo Leaves for my background. Notice that you are starting to see the stamped image show.

Once you have achieved your color, take a rag and buff over your design. The ink will rub off where your VersaMark is. Voila! You are ready to use you ghosted image!

The flowers are also from the Flower Pop Set. There are 8 stamps to this fun set. I've used the Zinnia, Dahlia, Peony and again the Leaves. They all were colored with Copics.

The Hello stamp was used on the inside.

SERENDIPITY NEW DIE BLOG HOP!

There are 9 new Word Dies and a wonderful Floral Frame Die and Embellishment Set to show off in the blog hop! Each DT member has chosen 2 words to design with, so be sure to visit all blogs to see the whole Word collection. To be eligable to win the $20 prize to be used at the Serendipity Store you must comment on ALL the blogs. The winner will be announced on Mary's Blog, Monday May 19th.

If you are following the hop order you should be arriving here from
Julie Warner

My first card was made using the word die, "Hope". This new set comes with Hope, Peace, Punctuation Marks and of course the Ribbon! The background paper was made using an embossing folder, Distress inks and water.

Here I framed and popped up the "Thanks" die along with the Exclamation Mark. The word dies are the perfect size and I love the font! The Dragonfly is part of the new Floral Frame and Embellishment Set.

Here is the new Floral Frame & Embellishment Die Set. Isn't it gorgeous! There are five dies in the set!

I wanted to try just embossing the Floral Frame,...LOVE IT! Yep, that sweet little butterfly also comes with the set!

On the inside of my card I used 2 halves of the Floral Frame that are included with the set. Fun, right? There's that beautiful dragonfly again!

Look at all the detail on the Frame! The design pattern is the same that you see on all the embellishments in the set. The Dragonfly and Butterfly are a smaller version of the original two dies, 005GD,and 006GD

The inside of the card was left blank for a hand written note. I love how Jenny used just a strip of the Floral Frame on her Floral Alphabet Stamp card. Thanks, I love that idea!

To continue on with the hop your next stop should be
Marybeth Lopez

AI CHALLENGE 135

"CUTE AS A BUTTON"

Art Impressions theme for their Challenge is "Cute as a Button". I went a little "Hog Wild" with this one, new from their Zoo Crew line (available in local stores now)! I think she is adorable and wears her tutu and party hat so well! I've added a FEW buttons!

The brown background has been embossed with Serendipity's Cupcake die. She has touches of Glossy Accents on her lips and toes. Wink of Stella has been brushed on her skirt and hat. The mouth watering icing is Viva Pearl Pen!

The sentiment speaks for itself! The die cut cupcake is the same one used to emboss on the front.

Of course my favorite, she's on a Wobble!

SSCB #31 FLOWERS!

April showers bring May flowers and also the Serendipity monthly challenge..."FLOWERS"!
This one is easy, just use flowers in your design and be sure to include a Serendipity stamp or die. Details can be found on the SSCB here.

SALE OF THE WEEK
20% ALPHABET CATEGORY

Serendipity has an exquisite set of the alphabet done with flowers. Each DT member was asked to choose a letter for our floral challenge.
Here are the links to see the designs:

I've used the letter "J". On this stamp the flower is Jack- in the- Pulpit. Related to the Calla Lilies this beautiful hooded flower can be seen in shades of deep purple and green. As I stamped the image I was surprised to see the wonderful detail of the two small butterflies on opposite corners! The image has been colored with Copics. The flower and one of the butterflies was stamped again, fussy cut and glued on top of the other.

I also chose to color the letter "N" which is surrounded by the Nasturtium. You might have had this flower served to you on a salad, as it is known for its spicy peppery flavor! The whole plant is edible!
At the top of the "N" there is a small snail...so sweet! The Floral Alphabet can be purchased as a Cling Set, Unmounted Sheet Set, or each letter individually.

The side view helps to show the main flower that has been fussy cut and placed on top of the original image giving it a little dimension!

Here are the Copics used

PAPER SMOOCHES CHALLENGE!

ANYTHING GOES
MAY 4-10

Pop Up Explosion Box Card!
This card was made for the Anything Goes Challenge at Paper Smooches

I have been wanting to try the box card technique and thought it paired nicely with the Great Chemistry stamp set from Paper Smooches.

When you open the flaps of the card this is what you see first.

The images have been fussy cut and colored with Copics. Glossy Accents, Crackle and Wink of Stella were used on the glass bottles. A few of the the pieces were attached with acetate. The "mad scientist" is on a wobble and his eyes also wiggle!

This is the back of the card when it's closed!

Thanks for looking!
