BY THE SEA

The new Graphic 45 By The Sea Collection is here just in time to say goodbye to winter! This brings back such fun memories...family vacations at the beach! Aren't these two just precious?

The sea shells were fussy cut from the 8x8 pad and combined with the new shell dies from IO. I used E41 to shade the shell die edges.

The cute fish stamps were framed with MFT Postage Stamp Dies. Clear embossing powder was heat embossed to give the stamps and shells a natural sheen.

I enjoy working on the inside of a card as much as the front!

The colors in this collection are beautiful...love the ginghams!

To throw in some extra fun the DT was asked to create a background with a color blending technique along with the typeprint/sheet music challenge.

Heres your links to some wonderful designs to get you inspired:
Karen Amidon...that's me!
I've die cut a portion of the beautiful Large Violet Stamp and colored it with Copics. Blue and lavender Pearlescent Chalk was softly color blended to shadow the image.

The crosshatch pattern for the background was made by blending distress inks and watercolor pencils. For the typeprint the Summer Flower Background Stamp  was inked up with London Fog.

Three of the violets have been fussy cut and popped up with foam tape. The ribbon for the bow has been color blended with Copics.

On the inside Happy Birthday was stamped onto the background that was created with distress inks and watercolor pencils.

Thanks for looking and hope to see your designs in the challenge!

HERE'S TO BIRTHDAYS!

Over At Art Impressions there is a great challenge going on, "Pop It Up"
Challenge 127 is to use lots of layers and dimension...my favorite!

I have the new "Shake Your Booty" stamp and thought it would be fun to ink up for this project. Check out this Accordion Circle Card die. Pretty sweet, right?!

So this little lady is from the Bloomer Set. I've popped up her jacket, lips, and some of her curlers with foam tape. The earrings were made with a soft wire and pearls. Glossy Accents give her lips and curlers a little shine! Lots of layers!

From the side view you can see that her legs and slippers have been fussy cut and also raised with foam tape. Her bloomers were cut and put on a Wobble.

Shake-Shake-Shake!
Here's where the shakin' comes in! Love those Action Wobbles! The sentiment says it all! Here's to birthdays!
Thanks for taking time to take a peek. Love hearing from you!

LIFE IS GOOD!

Life Is Good, Time Flies...no hidden message here, just loving these Technique Tuesday Stamps! Another different type of card for me. I am trying a few new things, here goes!

A carefree day playing outside. I adore this silhouette of the girls swinging under this big old tree. I've cut the image into three parts using different dies. Distress Inks were used as the background behind the images.

Layers, layers, and more layers!
I love the weight and texture of papers!

To make my frame for the inside I have stamped the sentiment "really good" along the edges. Here is the third part of the image...Isn't she sweet?

TIME FLIES!

It's hard to believe that Valentine's Day is almost here...Where does the time go?

I was recently introduced to Technique Tuesday Stamps. This one seem to be calling my name! Lately it feels like its all going so fast and I'm not smelling ANY roses...only coffee!  I love the pocket watch stamp which came with this collection called Dear Time. I used craft paper and a dark brown for the watches and heat embossed them in clear. I found this cute little charm and tied in on with twine.

The fun paper is from Bo Bunny which I though paired nicely with the theme!

Enjoy your day and thanks for looking!

VALENTINES

Sweethearts

I have this wonderful Jar Label Stamp from Serendipity and thought it would be fun to fill it with the "Conversation Hearts". The cute little hearts were made from the cut-outs of Serendipity's Love Die. I've added the fun text with a red pen. The "love you" tag was tied on with twine.

Quilted Hearts

Here's an easy Valentine to make. The Quilted Heart Stamp was inked up twice. I fussy cut one of the images, colored it and used a ball stylus to give some dimension. It has been embellished with buttons, twine, and a sheer ribbon bow.

How sweet is the inside?!  And what about this small coordinating heart that's part of the Quilted Heart Set...too cute! Easy!

Hearts and Love

Here is the Love Die that I have been using the heart cut-outs from. The Heart Scroll Die has so much detail and cuts beautifully. Another fast and easy card to make!

Thanks for stopping by and appreciate your comments!

The DT has been challenged a little further by asking us to also include a stamp or die that is associated with food. Piece of cake, right?! Lol!

Heres the links to see what the DT came up with:
Karen Amidon...here!

When looking at all the stamps that were related to food...the Cooking Tools caught my eye! These utensils are used when preparing or cooking food...it works, right? I remembered this treasured recipe from a cookbook that my son's kindergarden class made. I thought it would make the perfect background for my "typeprint". So,I got busy typing!

The Tools Stamp was inked up twice. I've fussy cut some of the utencils and raised them with foam tape for dimension. The red flower pitcher has been curved with a ball stylus.  To help keep its shape I used Collall.

I used the same recipe for the "typeprint" on the inside. I thought that the Love You Stamp paired nicely with the card. The small hearts at the end of the bow strings are the cut outs from the Love Die!

Thanks for taking time to look!
