HAPPIER THAN A FRENCH FRY!

Yippee, It's Friday and I'm, " happier than a bird with a french fry"!! Is this not the funniest saying from Impression Obsession?!! It pairs perfectly with these Bird Crazy images.

I have used  Prismacolors and Gamsol to color this guy.

You gotta love them!
I have used the colored pencils again for these birds. The bg was made using a variation of the Bokeh technique which can be found here on Splitcoast. I have also added the stamped Ink Splats from Impression Obsession.
Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

Happy Thursday!
Today I am sharing with you a fun congratulations pop-up box card for that special grad. Impression Obsession recently released several stamps and dies that made this box so much fun and easy to design.

"Spread your Wingsstamped on the chalkboard was framed using the new All-in-One Frames-Rectangles 2

How cute is this wise Owl die?!! If you look closely you can see the scolloped detail on his front.
I have fussy cut the books and report card from dp. The apple was colored red with a Viva Pearl Pen. The chalkboard on the front flap has Congratulations stamped on it from the Hats Off cling set. "Yeahhas been die cut.

An owls eye view of the box and it's inserts! Simple, right!

Stamped on the back of the box are several words of congratulations from the cling set of More Basic Greetings. The chalkboard was framed with another die cut design from the All -in-One Frames.

IMPRESSION OBSESSION-SUN, SAND AND SURF!

Ocean breezes, beaches, and sailing into the sunset! Join in and play along with Impression Obsessions new challenge. Use IO stamps and/or dies to create a fun beach theme design and play along for a chance to win a $25 IO Gift Certificate. You can find all the guidelines on the IO Blog.

Here's a look at what the DT came up with

Joanne Fink, one of the artists with IO, has designed a fun cling set full of "beachy" stuff!
I've made a pop-up box using several dies and have added a few of Joanne's sayings from her, "Sailing into the Sunset" collection.

You can see here the side view of my beach in a box! I have used four inserts (layers) for the beach and water to get the dimension and depth. The lifeguard stand was made from the Single Beach Chair and the Beach FenceAll of the dies that I've used are listed and linked below.

And now for a birds eye view of the beach and water!
You can go here to see another nautical box using IO dies and also here for more fun in the sun!

 Ahhh, "Livin the Salt Life"!

I love making these boxes from scratch but, I must confess for this one... I tried something NEW!
Mitra at IO and the Paper Cut have come out with 2 different sizes of the pre made Pop-Up Box cards that come in white and cream.
Oh my, this made it so easy! They have the Square Box card which is the one I used here and also the A-2. The package includes 5 boxes, inserts and envelopes.
I tried to link this up for you but could not find them on their website...maybe to new!
Impressive Ideas carries them if you are in or near the Atlanta area. If not, they are more than happy to mail them to you!

Thanks for looking!

SSCB #43-2 MY GIRL!

There is still plenty of time to play along with us in the, "My Girl" challenge at Serendipity.  Create something feminine using Serendipity stamps and or dies for a chance to win a $20 Gift Certificate. You can find all the details here on the SSCB.

For the second half of the challenge the DT was asked to make something feminine along  with a pocket, special fold or a gift box.

Before we see what the girls have come up with, lets welcome our May guest designer,

Karen Amidon...that's me!
Isha Gupta...guest designer

I decided to use a fun fold that was shared with me recently. How precious is this?! I have used the sweet Baby Booties and Bow along with the Baby Bootie Solid die on the front triangle fold. Foam tape was used between the two bootie dies for dimension and twine was laced through the holes. A strip of the intricate Daisy Garden die was used in place of a ribbon. To open the card the twine bow to the left gets untied.

When the triangle fold is opened you can see the next layer with the Baby die.

This layer is then lifted up to reveal the inside of the card where I have used the  Congratulations message!

SUMMERTIME FUN!

Who doesn't love a summer picnic?
These fun dies are just too cute!

I love creating scenes with dies. These adorable ants, the picnic basket and watermelon are all from Taylored Expressions, Little Bits! I have taken the basket die and used an ef from Memory Keepers to add the awesome woven deep texture. The scolloped Frame and Grass is from Impression Obsession. The "Summer" stamp from Serendipity fits the card  theme perfectly!

For the inside the card I have used one of my favorite sayings from Serendipity. And that is exactly what I am doing today!

Thanks for looking and enjoy your day!

Check to the designs the DT came up with this week:
Karen Amidon...that's me!
Kittie Caracciolo

Time to get those toes painted and sport those Flip Flops! Is this wreath adorable or what?! I was inspired by a card that the very talented Jenny Gropp made last year which can be seen here! Io has some of the cutest summer dies and these Flip Flops are so much fun. The wreath was very easy to make. I have used fun foam  for my base. The die was run a few times on different pattern dp. The flops were then glued to the circle base and embellished with the Tiny Flowers die and enamel dots, easy peasy!

The inside was made using the larger set of the Flip Flop dies. These were embellished with daisy ribbon and Viva Peal Pen. Ahhhh, "sweet summer days"!

SSCB #43 MY GIRL

Welcome to a new monthly challenge at Serendipity. This month is, "My Girl" and all things feminine! Play along by using a Serendipity stamp or die along with our theme. You can find all the guidelines on the SSCB.

There are lots of bargains going on at the Serendipity Store!

The DT was challenged to make their design with a,"partial die cut"
Check out what the girls came up with!
Karen Amidon...that's me!

There are several different techniques in making partial die cuts. After playing around I came back to literally cutting off a part of my dies!
The Butterflies are from the Floral Frame & Embellishment Dies which is a favorite of mine. My mother is very feminine and this card will be perfect for her. I have used a pink ink to stamp the beautifully scripted,"Happy Mother's Day".

The inside of her card is designed using the same dies and I've added,"Butterfly Kisses"!
Thanks for looking and Happy Mother's Day!
