FAVORITE PEEPS!

Yay, it's all about,"Peeps" today!
These BFF chicks look like they are having way too much fun!

Isn't this Candy Jar from MFT great? It comes with two fun jars and many choices of candies and tags, making it perfect for many different occasions!

I ran my jar and pierced rectangle die through the Vagabond at the same time.  A white layer of Neenah paper was then placed behind this die cut. I traced around the part where the candy would be. The candies were then glued into place.
On the backside of the pierced rectangle die cut, I have taped a sheet of acetate. This layer was then popped up onto the paper with the candy.
The jar top and bottom were also colored with Copics. To get the look of metal, I have rubbed on Platinum Inka Gold. I ended up cutting just the top two more times. These were then all glued together giving the top that extra dimension! These pieces, (top and bottom) were then glue back into their original die cut spot.

Card inside.

Back to the,"chicks"!

Adorable, right? I am loving all the new spring stamps and papers.
This cutie is from Stamping Bella,"One of My Peeps". What a great card for a girlfriend.
Here are the Copic colors that I have used for this card:

SWEET BIRTHDAY WISH!

The incredibly talented Dina Kowal has designed several silhouette images for Impression Obsessions that were recently released. Of course, I fell in love with ALL of them! Today I am sharing a very simple card made using her, "Reaching" image. I have framed the silhouette with a part of a gorgeous new die. The Ornate Rectangle Frame die can be used in several combinations. Here I have used the oval frame cut along with a very thin border around it.
I stamped the butterflies a second time, fussy cut and bent their wings upward.

The,"Greetings" die set is one of my favorites. There are 10 word dies to this set! "Happy" and "Birthday" were inlaid with the white paper die cut. The flowers were fussy cut from the colorful Pebbles-Bloom dp.

SSCB #40~2 ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE!

Although Valentines Day is over we are still celebrating love here at Serendipity. The challenge for the month of February is,"All you need is Love"! Play along by creating a design of love using a Serendipity stamp or die. If you are new to our challenges you can find the guidelines here on the SSCB.

The DT is still working with the,"Love" theme and we have added vellum!
Let's take a look!

I have used the,"And now Faith" beautiful sentiment on my card. I love how there are two different scripts used on this stamp. Vellum has been used on the fussy cutting of the flower pedals. A layer of vellum was also placed over the gold paper to soften the color.

Inside
Vellum was used on the outer layer over the butterfly dp. I have stamped the sentiment with the lovely script of "Happy Anniversary".

I'm sharing with you today a wedding cake make with the new IO Wedding Cake dies. Isn't this just yummy! I love the icing, bows and rose embellies that are included in the set. The cake stand is also a part of the die collection.
I have curved my cake layers and filled them with Collall and foam tape to help them keep their shape. The flowers were curved a little and their centers were lifted up slightly.
I also added a brushing of Wink of Stella onto the roses. The "Love Doves" grace each side of the cake holding the word,"love".

This is a quick card card using the Broken Chainlink Cover a Card  for the background. The French Rose and Love Never Fails were stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves and Love Letter. The green border is from the 6 in 1 Rectangle Frame Dies.

A BIG welcome to Kara Vrabel! You can see her beautiful creations here kandrdesigns.blogspot.com

Karen Amidon ...you are here!

The DT is always given a little extra challenge thrown into the theme. For this posting we are to use non traditional colors, sentiments, and for a guy!

 Feeling Lucky in Love!

The Poker Chips and, "Lucky" were the inspiration for my design. Serendipity has some great NEW dies. Are these fun or what?!!
To make the poker chips I ran the die through four times using four different colors of a heavy weight paper. The back side of the chip was lined with a double sided tape. I poked out the shaped die cuts and put a different color in its place.

The,"Lucky" die cuts beautifully and actually has a shamrock at the end of the, "y". I trimmed that part off in order to have space to stamp the other words in!
When I can't find exactly what I want in verbiage, I make it! The,"in" has been masked off from a stamp sentiment called, "It's not the years"! The size was just perfect for what I wanted. For the word, "love" I used the same technique and found it in, "who loves ya baby"!
The Scallop Heart die was released last month and I'm sure that it's a die that will get used throughout the year!

The beautiful Rose is an easy color with all the shading guidelines there for you. Years ago there was a rose called Talisman that were these colors, it was absolutely stunning! I've stamped the "love you" and made it into a little tag.
