The Thistle stamp is one of many images that Serendipity offers that are fun to color.
Today though, I am trying something a little different for me!
I, like so many are in awe of Birgit's talent. Here card here inspired me to try this technique!
I colored directly onto the rubber stamp with watercolor markers. I lightly spritzed with water and then stamped onto WC paper. The BG layer was colored with Distress Oxides and then embossed with the Floral BG die.

Serendipity Products Used

This image is the secondary stamping off the first card! A little extra bonus when you add more water to the rubber! I knew when I started painting the BG I should have stopped but, noooo I kept going! Oh well, I will keep practing ;)

Decided to play one more time with the image!
I have found that I could sit a make Oxide BG's all day long!
This is a very easy way to color up an image and have you BG done all at the same time.

Paper is key!!
I love using Curious Cryogen or Stardream. They both have a coating and a slight shimmer. The inks are like butter on the paper, not chalky!
To apply the Distress Oxide Inks to the stamped image I used the small eyeshadow sponges. The BG was done the same way blending the two colors together.
Spritz with water, heat dry and spritz again. I do this several times.
Stamp your sentiment and you are good to go!

Serendipity has many images of florals, but today I have inked up the Clover.
I love flowers, foliages and even some weeds! The clover gets a bad rap but they are drought tolerant and they bloom!

Spring is in the air and the flowers are popping their heads up! I am seeing gorgeous shades of golden daffodils everywhere. While looking through my stamps I remembered the daffodil in the fun SPRING FLOWER POP'S CLING SET
I have stamped the flower several times and then colored the images with Copics. The petite NORTH DRAGONFLY was stamped in Summer Breeze ink.
Now, here is what's new, the SPRING die! Isn't it great?! This is one of the 4 dies that come in the SEASONS DIES, love these!

Card Inside
Here is a look at the daffodil image without it being colored. I used two different inks for stamping, Orange Zest and Orange Fizz. I think the flowers are wonderful left plain. HAPPY SPRING was stamped in Razzle Berry.

The Happy St. Patty's Day stamp is perfect to stamp in shades of green. Using the MISTI makes this style of ombre` stamping easy! I started with the lightest shade first and only inked the top half of the stamp. For the medium shade of green, the ink pad was rocked onto the bottom half of the stamp. I blotted some of the ink off to help feather the transition. The darkest of the greens was added last and in the same way.

  • Stamps: Serendipity-Happy St. Patty's Day 1293E
  • Inks: MFT-Sour Apple, Gumdrop Green, Elf Green
  • Papers: Neenah 110, Bazzill, Authentique 6x6  & 12x12 Emerald
  • Other: Misti, May Arts silk ribbon, MFT Stitched dies
Thanks for looking and good luck!
