The Thistle stamp is one of many images that Serendipity offers that are fun to color.
Today though, I am trying something a little different for me!
I, like so many are in awe of Birgit's talent. Here card here inspired me to try this technique!
I colored directly onto the rubber stamp with watercolor markers. I lightly spritzed with water and then stamped onto WC paper. The BG layer was colored with Distress Oxides and then embossed with the Floral BG die.

This image is the secondary stamping off the first card! A little extra bonus when you add more water to the rubber! I knew when I started painting the BG I should have stopped but, noooo I kept going! Oh well, I will keep practing ;)

Decided to play one more time with the image!
I have found that I could sit a make Oxide BG's all day long!
This is a very easy way to color up an image and have you BG done all at the same time.

Paper is key!!
I love using Curious Cryogen or Stardream. They both have a coating and a slight shimmer. The inks are like butter on the paper, not chalky!
To apply the Distress Oxide Inks to the stamped image I used the small eyeshadow sponges. The BG was done the same way blending the two colors together.
Spritz with water, heat dry and spritz again. I do this several times.
Stamp your sentiment and you are good to go!
