The Triton Shell has been stamped onto glossy paper with a rich chocolate brown ink. Once the ink was dry, I masked the shell with Fineline Masking Fluid. Copic inks and blending solution were used to create the splashes of color. The masking glue rolls off easily when the inks have dried. This is a very simple technique and makes a beautiful bg for a card!
The same technique was used here on the Sea Horse. Around the top and backside of the Sea Horse I used the Copic Sketch markers to outline the body.
I had to get a little coloring time in so I've colored this darling image, that I love, of playing in the sprinkler. If you like it too...you are in luck!! The Sprinkler is 50% OFF for the whole month of July.

Karen your cards are beautiful! And you worked the challenge theme "Just Add Water" in two ways - with the ocean themed stamps and your technique. I'm running out today to buy some of the masking fluid - gorgeous effect! Your little sprinkler kiddo is adorable!
ReplyDeleteOh my stars! Karen, I'm completely captivated by your cards and the techniques you've used to create them! The images are incredibly pretty and your 'ocean' background brings them to life in a most striking fashion. In awe! Masking fluid on my wish list (oh, to have a crafting supply source nearby...). Your sprinkler card: seriously cute! Thrilled to be on the team with you; you're definitely an inspiration!
