SSCB #52~ANYTHING GOES!

It's time again for a new monthly challenge at Serendipity Stamps.
We have changed things up a bit. On the first of each month we will start a new theme for the monthly challenge. At the half way point the DT will be showing more samples as well as celebrating with a monthly blog hop!
This gives a second chance to win a $20 SS gift certificate!!

Join in and play along, it's easy!
Design with the monthly theme of Anything Goes using Serendipity stamps or dies and link up...you don't have to have a blog to play!
New to our challenges? You can find all the details here on the SSCB.

The Tandem Bicycle is 50% Off for the month of February

I have made a fun and easy cover for a note pad decorating it with the stamp of the month!
The Tandem Bike was stamped and colored with Copics. I stamped the front tire and basket again, colored them and then fussy cut. I curved the tire and basket with a ball stylus and used silicone to hold and keep the shape. These two pieces were then glued over the same part of the stamped image.
The balloons were die cut from the new Party Balloons die which also have silicone for dimension.

A bike isn't complete without colorful streamers, right? These were made with embroidery thread. A little dusting of Wink of Stella and some shiny gloss dresses up this girlie bike!

For the inside I found this sweet note pad that measures 3.5in x 7.5in. I added a tear off calander and a side pocket.

This is super easy to make!
For this one I made a ribbon tie closer. A magnet with a decorative die cut works great too!

Ribbon closer measurements: Base 9 1/4" x 8"
Score at: 1/2, 4 3/8, 4 7/8, 8 3/4
Fold on all score lines-bump side in!
Cut a slit for your ribbon on the 1/2" tab scoreline that is on either side. Thread ribbon through slit. Tape or glue down ribbon under this tab to secure. (Make sure that the ribbon is not longer than the folded tab!) The whole tab can be taped flat now.
I have used a heavy weight paper and reinforced the spine and sides by adding extra layers.

Time to decorate...have fun!

  2. EEK! I can't believe you made little tassles for the handles! I always wanted those on my bike as a kid, but my folks weren't having it! I love the coloring on your balloons too - you achieved a translucency that I didn't think was possible! The colors are like sherbet - a perfect summer day !
