TEA TIME BLOG HOP!

You're invited to a Tea Time Blog Hop!
Serendipity has two new dies and we couldn't be more excited to show them off! We are introducing the Teapot and Tea Cup by sharing fun and inspiring creations from the DT with a Blog Hop. These dies are so sweet!

The Hop will run through midnight on March 30th. Leave a comment on the DT members blogs and one commenter will be chosen randomly to win a $20 gift code.
Check back Monday March 31st on Mary's Blog to see if you are that lucky winner!

When I first saw the Teapot and Tea Cup dies I started thinking... how fun it would be to make an invitation to a tea and have an individual personalized place card holding the tea bag! And voila, this is what I came up with! I've taken the Tea Time Stamp and stamped it randomly around the border of my card. The roses and greenery were colored with Copics and a touch of Wink of Stella. Clear embossing powder was used over the whole die cut to give the look of china.

The pouch that I made to hold the tea bag is attached to the back of the Teapot die. I used the Tea Time Stamp again on the inside of my card and on the place card tea bag holder in place of where the guest name could go!

The You're Invited Stamp was used on the back of the card to give all the tea party details! And now you have been invited to our Tea Hop! You should have arrived here from Mary's Blog and your next stop would be the talented Marybeth Lopez!
Here is the Hop order:

Karen Amidon...that's me!

The Artist Bunny is getting a head start on coloring his eggs! Isn't this image adorable?

I went with soft pastel colors. The bunny was inked up with London Fog. He has been fussy cut and colored with Copics. His paw and egg were stamped again, fussy cut and raised with foam tape. The painted egg and paint splats have a touch of Wink of Stella to give them a sparkle.
I mounted the Egg Scroll Die behind the bunny. The bottom layer was colored with V20, dry embossed and then Wink of Stella added to it. The top layer was also dry embossed and then die cut. Next it was heat embossed with clear ep to give it that wonderful shine! Stitching was done on the cardstock. The beautiful sheer ribbon also has stitching on it!

For the inside I have done the same embossing technique on the Egg Scroll Die

MOJO MONDAY 336- FRIENDS and FEATHERS

It's Thursday and I thought today would be a good day to try a Mojo Monday 336 Challenge! Make sense right?... Better late than never! This is what I came up with from the sketch that was created by Debbie Carriere.

This is a first for me as I have never followed a sketch before! I usually don't have a plan, make a mess, then see what I can do to make it look right! Lol
I love the new feather dies from Impression Obsession and thought that they paired nicely with the paper from Jillibean. The circle frame is popped up with foam tape along with the feathers.

The sentiments on the card are from the True Blue Friends set also from IO.
Thanks Debbie for such a fun sketch!

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful Thursday!

Hurry spring! Isn't this a gorgeous stamp from Serendipity?
I inked up a small portion of the Zinnia image and colored it with Copics. The butterfly was stamped again and fussy cut. I've used silicone to pop the wings up. The fun "Spring" Stamp is from the Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter Set. Take a look at all those layers!! I am a BIG fan of the Perfect Layer Rulers and now they have the Perfect Layers Mini  and  Perfect Cutting Mat! These are awesome and so easy to use.

For the inside...layers, layers and more layers! One of my favorite measurements on the ruler is 1/16 inch for that nice fine border!  Easy peasy and what a difference it makes to your card! No more fussing with repositioning!
Serendipity has sooo many wonderful sentiments in their line! I just love the script for Butterfly Kisses, beautiful!

Thanks for joining the hop and your next blog to visit is the very talented

Ai CHALLENGE 130- "Sheer Perfection"

It's week two for Art Impressions Challenge # 130. The only requirements are that you use vellum for Sheer Perfection! They want to "see through" our creations!

Celeste is normally sitting on a comfy couch enjoying a beverage! I chose to fussy cut her off the couch and place her on a curve and a window sill. The glass panes in the windows are vellum!

The inside sentiment is part of the Celeste Set. Now, with age, the need for lots of glasses can go 2 ways! In my case and a little play on "seeing through", I need lots of glasses...eyeglasses that is! Definitely not as much fun!

Hope that you can see clearly today and thanks for looking!

  • Stamps: Ai-Celeste Set, Comfy on the Couch (one set of eyeglasses!)
  • Ink: Memento- Tuxedo Black, Peanut Brittle
  • Papers: Neenah-Solar White, Bo Bunny- Avenues Collection, Double Dot (backside), MME-Sunshine, clear vellum
  • Dies: Spellbinders- A2 Matting Basics, A2 Curved Borders One, Window One
  • Other: Copics, Perfect Layer Rulers, Glossy Accents, clear ep, jewels

Karen Amidon...here!
Miriam Napier...out this week!

Doesn't this card say,"little boy"?

I chose this awesome image of the airplane to use for a young boys birthday card. I've seen the biplane colored many different ways and thought it would be fun to use bright colors and a lot of contrast!
Birthdays are to be celebrated and what better way to say ..."It's a special day!" This sentiment is a part of the Everyday Words Set.

The cross stitch was done with a very thin needle! Using a pierced oval die made it much easier to keep it uniform!

Stamping the message on the banner flags worked great for the inside. I masked the "Birthday" and stamped just the "Happy", twice! The banner on the bottom shows the full Happy Birthday sentiment.
Enjoy your day and thanks for looking!

JRC #115

SPRING CHEER is the challange that is going on now at JustRite Papercraft.
I'm cheering...come on spring! For the challenge they want to see "a cheerful spring palette". Here is what I came up with.

Greens, flowers and gingham say spring to me! I've chosen the floral image from the Grateful Heart stamp collection. Isn't this image just beautiful? I love how there is sooooo many combinations you can choose from with their products! Of course, the Vintage Labels Two dies were also a perfect match!

On the inside I used the "flowers and sunshine" sentiment from the same collection. Very appropriate don't you think?!
Thanks for looking and come on sunshine!
